Bill Gandy

Bill Gandy, Ponca City resident, went to be with the Lord on Thursday Nov. 10, 2005. He was 75.

The funeral was held at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 14, at Northeast Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Larry Nigh, pastor, officiating. Burial followed in Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Trout Funeral Home. Billy Joe Gandy was born on Nov. 22, 1929, in Childress, Texas, the son of Vallie and Ora Mae Gardner Gandy. He received his education from Morton High School in Texas, where he graduated from high school in 1948. After high school Bill joined the United States Army and proudly served our country. On July 24, 1975, Bill was united in marriage to Lolita Balthus in Okeene. They made their home in Ponca City, where Bill worked as a plant engineer. He was a master mechanic.

Bill enjoyed gardening, sports (especially football) and loved spending time with his family. He was a member of Northeast Baptist Church. Bill will be greatly missed in lives of many.

Family members include two sons, Craig Gandy of Austin, Texas, and Steve Gandy of Houston, Texas; one daughter, Becky Huff of Tulsa; brother, Leonard Gandy of Odessa, Texas; sister, Wilma Hill of Georgetown, Texas; sister, Betty Hodges of Levelland, Texas; brother, Don Gandy of Spring Branch, Texas; sister, Merle Wilson; one stepdaughter, Dena Goans of Enid; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lolita; his sister, Chloris Tarlton; brother, J.C. Gandy; and sister, Geraldine Herndon. Casket bearers will be Dustin Huff, Craig Gandy, Chad Goans, Steve Gandy, Jake Gandy and Jonathan Gandy.

Honorary casket bearers will be Jeffery Gandy, Jim Stigge and Dawson Smith.
